BIO
Naomi A. is an American artist who works as a printmaker, and photographer. Although innately drawn to handwork, her formal education was in Music, at the University of Toronto.
Thereafter, Naomi started an art-based jewelry business to sell her unique designs.....(NaomiAdesigns.com) Her pieces were known for their custom, complex use of colors and geometric shapes. Her sophisticated hand-painted work have been compared to the paintings of Sonia Delaunay. Naomi blurred the line between craft and fine art.
Subsequently, she returned to full-time study for two years, at CÉGEP de Vieux Montréal, and holds a certificate in Joaillerie. In the early 2000's Naomi left commerce completely, to focus solely on fine art. She studied printmaking, and photography, first at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, (SMFA, Boston), The Photographic Center of West Palm Beach, and more recently at the Armory Art School, in W. Palm Beach, where she won first prize for Printmaking and Photography in 2015. Naomi continues to study with master printmakers and photographers, to learn how to create art both environmentally as well as physically safe. She has participated successfully in the juried sales at the SMFA, Boston. Her prints and photographs can be found in many private collections in the USA and in Canada.
